Thoughtful Choices Start with the Yarn

Our yarn supplier spent years investing in animal care, grassland restoration, water recycling, independent testing, and traceability technology to conserve water, reduce pollution, and make sourcing more transparent.

Caring for the Animals, People & Land

Every cashmere sweater begins with a goat, and with the people who care for it. Their wellbeing belongs in the story of what we wear.

Our cashmere is sourced from four producing regions in Inner Mongolia, China. Its sourcing approach includes The Good Cashmere Standard, which sets requirements for goat welfare, herder working conditions, and environmental protection.

For the goats, those requirements cover nutritious food, clean water, appropriate living conditions, and care for their health and wellbeing. For herders, they address working conditions and responsible management of the land their communities depend on.

Materials & Traceability

Knowing where cashmere begins is one part of the story. Keeping track of it through production is another.

Our supplier participates in the Sustainable Fibre Alliance’s chain-of-custody system, which tracks certified cashmere through the supply chain. Records follow the fiber as it changes hands and is processed into yarn.

Its partnership with Haelixa adds another check: invisible DNA markers that laboratories can detect in marked yarn or finished garments, helping verify the material’s journey through the supplier’s mills.

Using Water Thoughtfully

Our supplier reports recycling 60% of its dyeing water through a treatment system that includes reverse osmosis filtration. The remaining water is treated to meet national discharge standards.

Its chemical-testing approach includes Intertek’s Chemical Green Leaf program, while its listed certifications include OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 for testing certified textiles against serious potential effects on people or the environment, including lead, cadmium, and certain plastic-softening chemicals.

Measuring & Improving

Switching from coal to cleaner-burning gas is one step our supplier has taken to address emissions. Several yarns have also received independent carbon footprint verification from TÜV SÜD, providing checked measurements to support future improvements.

Digital sampling technology from SHIMA SEIKI helps designers preview colors and knit structures before making physical samples, potentially reducing material use and shipping during development.

These initiatives span our supplier’s business and collections. Their application varies by yarn and production process.

Supporting the Next Generation

Our manufacturer also supports design students through yarn sponsorship, scholarships, and education about sustainable textiles. Helping designers understand materials early brings more considered choices into the products they will create.

Made for Life in, and Beyond, the Mountains.

Alpine Revival is for people who want fewer, better things. People who value quality and individuality, seek adventure without needing to announce it, and understand that performance and style should never require a compromise.

We are building the modern mountain heritage brand that reconnects people to what made them fall in love with the mountains in the first place: Freedom. Adventure. Self expression. Belonging. And joy.

Ski powder. Laugh louder. Wear it well.

See you out there,

A.J.
