Why Performance Cashmere

Traditional cashmere is soft, but it is often treated like something too delicate for real life. Alpine Revival blends Mongolian cashmere with elastane so the knit stretches, holds its shape, and wears harder without losing the softness that makes cashmere worth reaching for.

Care

Treat it well and it will last for years. That's the whole point.
When it needs washing, we recommend gently by hand in lukewarm water with mild detergent, no wringing.
If you trust your water temps, you can machine wash cool on the delicate cycle. Lay flat to dry. No warm water. No dryer. Ever.

Fit & Sizing

Relaxed fit. Our most generous cut.

Hits at the hip. Sleeves intentionally long. If you are between sizes and prefer a closer fit, size down. Otherwise, your usual size works well. The double layer cowl neck replaces the need for anything else that may feel tight near your neck.

Craftsmanship

The Go Time Hoodie is built differently on purpose. Like every Alpine Revival knit, it's produced in small batches and assembled by skilled craftspeople who link each panel stitch by stitch. This traditional method creates cleaner, flatter seams that move comfortably with the body and eliminate the bulky feel common in many sweaters. Every detail earns its place. Reinforced elbow patches provide extra durability where knitwear naturally sees the most wear, helping the sweater maintain its integrity through years of use. Along the side body, a subtle knit-in stripe reveals a pop of unexpected color—a nod to the playful spirit of alpine sport and the belief that performance and personality belong together. It's thoughtful construction you may not notice at first, but you'll appreciate every time you pull it on.

Performance Cashmere

Soft enough to love. Strong enough to live in.

Most cashmere is beautiful and fragile. You wear it twice a year, send it to the dry cleaner, and keep it away from anything with a zipper. I wanted cashmere you could actually use.

Why cashmere

Cashmere comes from the soft undercoat of goats. These goats live at high altitudes and survive brutal Mongolian winters. The fiber is fine, long, and breathable, so it regulates your temperature naturally and with less bulk than fleece and less weight than wool. Warm, soft and comfortable.

What goes wrong

On its own, cashmere can stretch out, pill, and snag. So a fiber that's perfect for a life outside gets saved for special occasions.

We're changing how cashmere can perform

We knit premium cashmere with a small amount of elastane, so every single stitch can stretch comfortably and hold. It's knit under slight tension and relaxes onto your body. It moves with you, then comes back to its shape.

"This is my third sweater! I wear them from skiing to traveling and they hold up well. They fit great with long enough sleeves and just enough shape to look put together."Sloane B., Powder Day Zip

Cashmere built for the life you live.

The Details, Built on Purpose

"Ski Powder Laugh Louder," stitched by hand across the back. Extra knit at the elbows, right where wear happens. A tail that stays put when you sit down. A cowl that doubles up against the wind. You'll keep finding them.

"Alpine Revival sweaters are worth every penny! They are built to be very durable for the hard outdoor enthusiast as well as dressing up for an evening out!"Karin S., Women's Granite Crew

Made with intention

Linked by hand. Made in small batches.

Every Alpine Revival sweater is constructed stitch by stitch using linked construction, creating smoother, less bulky seams than traditional cut and sew. We make roughly 100 pieces per run because this kind of craftsmanship takes more time, more hands, and more attention to detail.

Every detail in this piece answers a problem a skier actually has.

A.J. Cargill spent her life on the mountain: world champion free skier, 21 year Jackson Hole ski patroller, personal trainer, retail buyer, and lifelong student of what works in alpine environments.

This teaches you exactly where fabric wears out, where wind gets in, and where a sweater rides up at the wrong moment.

She did not design Alpine Revival from a mood board. She designed it from chairlifts, patrol routes, ski town mornings, cold hands, hard falls, and decades of knowing what people actually reach for when the shell comes off.

The cost explained.

We use performance cashmere blended with elastane, knit together stitch by stitch using linked construction. We make 100-200 pieces per run. There is hand embroidery on select styles. Surprise details in every single piece. This is not a sweater that comes off a machine in an hour. It is made with more hands, more time, and more intention than almost anything else you will find at this price point. The real question is cost per wear. This sweater is going to outlast five of the ones you have been buying.

Is cashmere actually warm enough for the mountain?

Most people think of cashmere as a delicate thing you wear to fancy outings only. We think about it differently. Cashmere fiber is long and hollow, which means it regulates your temperature instead of just trapping heat the way down or synthetic insulation does. When you get too warm, it breathes. When you cool down, it holds. Cashmere goats live in high alpine environments their entire life. The yarn spun from these rugged animals has been used in extreme cold climates for centuries for exactly this reason. Our elastane blend makes it even more functional: it stretches and moves with you, holds its shape, and does not hold odor the way petroleum based fleece does.

Where is it made and where does the cashmere come from?

The cashmere comes from Mongolian goats. About 95% of the world's cashmere goats live in Mongolia and the surrounding region, because the extreme temperature swings are what produce that fine, long, hollow fiber. We work with yarn companies who care about the herder communities that make this possible. The sweaters are manufactured in China, which is where the expertise and proximity to that Mongolian fiber lives. We are not going to hide from that. We chose it because it is the right place to make what we make, not because it was the cheapest option.

How do I wash it?

This is where Alpine Revival does something most cashmere brands cannot: you can machine wash it. The elastane blend creates a tighter, more durable weave that holds up in a gentle cycle. Cold water only. Delicate cycle. A mesh laundry bag is a good idea.

Never put it in the dryer, ever. Lay it flat on a towel or rack to air dry. That is it. No dry cleaning bill. No precious handling. Just wear it, wash it, wear it again.

Will it pill?

Less than you expect. Pilling is cashmere's reputation, and honestly it is not wrong for most cashmere. Ours pills significantly less because of the elastane blend and the higher grade yarn we use. We pay more for the yarn specifically because it matters. We would not make pilling reduction a headline claim, but we will say: customers who have worn these for full seasons come back and buy another. That tells us something.
